friday here, spring day I slept well, I enjoyed seeing everyone, the new MHR cd is being resent to a different manufacturer, so please, please "all crowfunders" my apologies, and apologies from Thomas the drummer and producer, it will be a couple weeks before the "WATERSIDE" CD is completed, and pressed, we ran into some snags with a different cd manufacturer, but Thomas is good, and he is in good health, so I do ask everyone to Pray for us, and we'll try to form a working Band, here in the US AND in Germany, two different versions of DM&Mb, David Munyon & Mary's Band . For a TOUR in 2014.

stay in prayer, prayer works, Father of Light and Jesus are always available, and The grace of their majestic hearts and minds causes miracles, always know this.

Heute fand das durch die Crowdfunding Aktion gesponserte Konzert in Schöppingen statt. Sehr freundlich Gastgeber empfingen uns dort und erlebten ein schönes Konzert im intimen Rahmen eines Wohnzimmers. Vielen Dank an Hans-Werner für die Unterstützung.

Nochmal zum Crowdfunding, da ich zunehmend, neben vielen freundlichen Nachfragen, auch die ein oder andere sehr unfreundliche Mail erhalte, David und Ich arbeiten an einer Lösung das Album auch auf CD anbieten zu können. Niemand wurde vergessen. David und ich können nichts dafür das die CDs noch immer nicht geliefert wurden. Ich kann hier auf und nieder springen und nichts daran ändern. Derzeit versuche ich an das Originalmaterial zu kommen um es in Deutschland nochmal neu pressen zu lassen. Das ist nicht in zwei Tagen und auch nicht in zwei Wochen gemacht. Ich bitte um Geduld. Vielen Dank!

Today was the crowdfunded concert in Schöppingen. Very friendly people welcomed us and saw a very nice living room gig. Thanks to Hans Werner for the support.

Concerning the crowdfunding. I receive, beside many friendly questions, a few very unfriendly comments. David and I working on a solution. Nobody was forgotten. David and I are not to blame for those people at the studio or manufacturing factory who won't reply our Mails and questions. At this moment I try to get the original files to manufacture the cds in Germany again. This is not done in two days and also not in two weeks. So please be patient. Thank you.

Nachdem wir vom Oberbürgermeister Bergisch Gladbachs Lutz Urbach empfangen wurden, durfte sich David ins Goldene Buch der Stadt eintragen. Eine unerwartete Ehre!

After we were welcomed by the mayor of Bergisch Gladbach Lutz Urbach, David had the honor to sign the guestbook of the city.

Nach zwei Off Tour Tagen im Maintal mit viel Ruhe und einem Kinobesuch bei GI Joe 3D (jegliche Kritik zu diesem Schund spar ich mir an dieser Stelle ;-) ist David für das Krefeld Konzert frisch gestärkt ans Werk gegangen. Die Randvolle Kulturrampe heizte sich auch dementsprechend sehr schnell auf. Eröffnet wurde das Konzert mit dem ultrararen "Like a runaway train" welches es bis heute leider noch auf kein Album geschafft hat. Außerdem "Song for Dalai Lama" und Neil Youngs "Heart of Gold" als Premieren. Morgen dann in Bergisch Gladbach

After two off tour days in the Maintal with lot's of recharging time and a visit in the cinema to GI Joe 3D (what a trash...) David was ready to go in Krefeld. The Kulturrampe was full of people and so the room was heated up very quickly. Davy opened the gig the ultrarare "Like a runaway train" which sadly hasn't seen the light of day yet. Beside that we saw the tour premieres of "Song for Dalai Lama" and Neil Youngs "Heart of Gold".

Birkenfeld im Saarland ist das nächste Ziel. David füllt die Stadthalle des Ortes mit über 100 Zuschauern die mit 2 1/2 Stunden Musik in zwei Sets und den Tourpremieren "Super Blue" und "Severe Austerities" belohnt werden. David lies heute offiziell verlauten das ich den Rolling Stone Award für den besten Driver bekomme! :-) Highlight des Abends war jedoch die Tourpremiere des Songs "Many Tears", ein Song über die amerikanischen Ureinwohner den David eigenen Angaben nach seit mehr als 15 Jahren nicht mehr gespielt hat. Gänsehaut pur! Danke an Manuel für die tolle Organisation und all die Hilfe mit den Tourpostern.

Birkenfeld in the Saarland was next. David filled the local city hall with more than 100 people. They were rewarded with the tour premieres of "Super Blue" and "Severe Austerities". David official announced that I get the Rolling Stone Driver Award! :-) Highlight of the evening was the tour premiere of "Many tears", a song about the american natives which David hasn't performed since the midnineties. Goosebumps all over! Thanks to Manuel for the great organisation and all the help with the tour posters.

Trotz des exzellenten Biergartenwetters haben einige Fans den Weg ins Oberfränkische Erlangen in den dunklen Keller des Strohalms gefunden und wurden mit einem Marathonkonzert belohnt. Zwei Sets, das erste 2 1/2 Stunden und danach noch ein kurzes zweites was bei etwa 45 Minuten eintickte. Wieder unzählige Tourpremieren wurden vom Publikum dankend angenommen. Darunter unter anderem The Changes always wins, Just the waters rushing, Thinking of Emily, Blues for G, Frozen Dreams, Carolina Song, At the end of the River sowie die extrem selten gehörten Songs Transverse Kitty, A Rare And Foreign Coin und I'm on my way. Coversong des Abends war John Prines "Paradise". Als nächste nach Niedersachsen in dem sehr schönen Städtchen Alfeld / Leine.

Despite of the warm weather some fans found the way to Erlangen into the dark cellar of the Strohalm and they were rewarded with a marathon concert. Das Konzert in Plauen im Malzhaus war der beste Tourauftakt den man sich vorstellen konnte. Das Malzhaus war voll, die Leute begeistert und David trotz leichter Erkältung ("His personal cold") in bester Spiellaune. Songs von den neuen Alben wie z.B.: Hendrikes Ford Fiesta, Rahda oder Sometimes I can't believe I'm here with you wurden ebenso performt wie viele alte Klassiker. Außerdem feiert auch ein ganz neuer Song Weltpremiere "Will you drive to Berlin with me, Baby" zu dem es in den nächsten Tagen auch ein Video geben wird! Nicht zuletzt hat David den Eagles Song "Take it easy" erklingen lassen als wäre es sein eigener. Erst vor zwei Tagen hab ich ihm die Lyrics dazu versorgt und schon heute spielt er den Song in einer Perfektion als würde er ihn schon seit Jahren covern. Immer wieder ein Genuß! David sagte zusammenfassend nach dem Konzert: "This was a great concert and it had the best fu*** mix of my whole life" :-) Heute nächster Stopp die hoffentlich ebenso randvolle Dreikönigskirche in Dresden. The concert in Plauen at the Malzhaus was the best tour opener you can imagine. The place was packed, the people were enthusiastic and Dave was in best shape beside this little cold, he called his personal cold. He performed songs of the new recordings like Hendrikes Ford Fiesta, Rahda or Sometimes I can't believe I'm here with you as well as many classic songs. We even had the world premier of the new song "Will you drive to Berlin with me, Baby" of which you will see a video in the next days. Last but not least he performed the Eagles classic tune "Take It easy". Sounding like he played it for years. Just two days ago I gave him the lyrics to that. Always unbelievable this man. :-) David said after the show: "This was a great concert and it had the best fu*** mix of my whole life" :-) Next stop the hopefully packed Three Kings Church in Dresden. Vor zwei Tagen ist David gut in Deutschland angekommen.

Um dem Jetlag entgegen zu wirken und sich auf die Konzerte vorzubereiten hat David gestern neue Songs geschrieben und sich ausgiebig warm gespielt was heute fortgesetzt wird. Tourcountdown läuft. Morgen in Plauen ist es soweit. Außerdem ist gestern die neue CD angekommen. :-)

Keine Neuigkeiten hingegen von der "Waterside". Die CDs sind noch nicht eingetroffen. :-(

Two days ago Davy arrived safely in Germany.

To heal the jetlag David wrote new songs yesterday and rehearsed a long time which he continues today. Tourcountdown is running. Tomorrow in Plauen it will start. Beside that the new cd arrived yesterday.

No news on the "Waterside". The Cds haven't arrived yet. :-(

Großartige Neuigkeiten... Wie ich heute von Günter Pauler erfahren habe wird das neue Stockfisch Album "Purple Cadillacs" mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit nun doch noch rechtzeitig zur Tour vorliegen! Das hieße wir haben die CD zu den Konzerten im Gepäck! Nun heißt es bloß noch Daumen drücken, dass bis dahin auch "Water Side" und "Midwest" den Atlantik überquert haben.

Great news today... Günter Pauler told me that the chances are good for the new Stockfisch record "Purple Cadillacs" to be released right before the tour begins. That would mean we bring them with us on the concerts. Now keep your fingers crossed for "Water Side" and "Midwest" to cross the Atlantic ocean till then.

Finally... präsentiert von www.davidmunyon.de - Die lange angekündigte Tour 2012 DVD "Various Tunes" ist endlich fertig und wird exklusiv auf der kommenden Tour erhältlich sein. Die erste DVD seit der Wohnzimmer Aufnahme in Senden 2006 zeigt einen Zusammenschnitt der letztjährigen Tour. Insgesamt findet ihr darauf 17 Songs. It's the first DVD since the recording of the living room gig in Senden 2006 and will feature Highlights from the last tour. 17 live recordings consists of previously unreleased, rarities and crowdpleasing Songs performed on the concerts in Halle, Erfurt, Lauchhammer, Dresden and Northeim.  All captured in great audio and video quality. For everyone who was on those gigs it will be a great keepsake. For everyone else it will be a great chance to see what they have missed.

In addition to the DVD, for an extra charge, there will be a high defintion download with bonus tracks available ca. 13th calendar week.

Heute habe ich die Toursite überarbeitet und bei den meisten Konzerte einen Link miteingebunden wo ihr euch Tickets sichern könnt. Nach und nach werden die Konzerte nun überall auf den Veranstalterwebseiten angekündigt. Ich hoffe eure Vorfreude ist ähnlich groß wie meine.

Today I worked on the toursite and added most of the links to the venues. Bit by bit they all annouce the concerts on their websites.

Den Termin am 11. April in Leipzig musste ich leider aus Organisationsgründen ersatzlos streichen. Aber das Objekt 5 in Halle ist ja zum Glück nicht weit entfernt. Am selben Tag findet nun stattdessen ein Konzert in der Friedenskirche in Jena statt. Ich hoffe das sich darüber auch einige freuen werden und die Leipziger Fans nicht zu sehr enttäuscht sind.

Sadly I had to cancel the gig in Leipzig on april 11th because of different arrangement reasons. But the Objekt 5 in Halle is not far away. Instead there will be a concert at the Peacechurch in Jena on that day.

I hope to see everyone on the April TOUR. Stockfisch is making a new cd for the TOUR titled "Purple Cadillac's" and the new MHR CD "WaterSide" is being mixed. I'll see you then . I will be there for the TOUR 100%. I'm well. I will look forward to seeing you all on the Acoustic TOUR. In Germany. If you know of any gigs in France or Italy this would be nice. I'm getting old. I'm 60 now. It is very weird. Getting old is vey weird. Still, I will be there. I hope to see you all. all the best, with my love. D

Liebe David Munyon Fans!

Ich wünsche euch allen ein wunderschönes, besinnliches Weihnachtsfest und einen guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr. Geniesst die Zeit mit euren Lieben, den Stollen, den Glühwein und einen riesen Gänsebraten und traumhafte Musik... all das werd ich jedenfalls geniessen. Solltet ihr das Fest allein verbringen müssen dann habt ihr immernoch die Musik. Und da ist besonders Davids Musik die in einsamen Zeiten Trost und Wärme spendet...

Ich danke euch für die tatkräftige Unterstützung im vergangenen Jahr; die gut besuchte Tour im zeitigen Frühjahr und besonders für die finanzielle Unterstützung beim Crowdfunding Projekt für "Water Side - The Ghost of Sonny Hamm". Das Album sollte in den nächsten Wochen vorliegen und wird dann, zusammen mit den anderen Goodies an die Funder versendet.

Das nächste Jahr wird also wieder ein gutes Jahr für David Fans. Neben dem Water Side Album wird es ein neues Stockfisch Album geben. Außerdem habe ich David wieder eingeladen im Frühling eine Tour zu spielen. Deren Termine findet ihr immer aktuell auf der Tour 2013 Seite.

Thank you for all your support this year. The successful tour in the early spring and especially the financial support for crowdfunding project "Water Side - The Ghost of Sonny Hamm". I will get the album in the next weeks and then I send it to you together with all the other goodies.

Lange gab es keinen neuen Eintrag weil ich erstmal abwarten wollte wie die Dinge sich entwickeln um auch konkret was sagen zu können...

Erstmal habe ich alle bisherigen News ins Newsarchiv gepackt. Dies könnt ihr in der linken Navigationsleiste oberhalb des Gemäldes aufrufen. Es war langsam zu aufgebläht, da die Seite bald ihr 2 jähriges Jubiläum feiert, und seither ein Menge angefallen ist.

Nun ist das Startnext Projekt ein voller Erfolg geworden. Dank eurer Hilfe ist das Album "Water Side - The Story of Sonny Hamm" das neue Album des Labels Mobile Home Records. Das Album ist zu 90 % im Kasten. David wird in der nächsten Woche jedoch nochmal in die Studios nach Florida fahren um einige Gesangsparts neu einzuspielen. Dies sollte alles schon längst geschehen sein, leider ist der Produzent des Album, Thomas McEniry, Anfang Oktober schwer erkrankt, so dass alles erstmal auf Eis gelegt werden musste. Nun hat er sich wieder erholt und wird sich der Finalen Produktion widmen.

Der Release im Dezember ist allerdings leider nicht mehr realistisch. Wir hoffen das Album im späten Januar hier vorliegen zu haben. Dies betrifft natürlich auch den Download der CD. Dieser wird freigeschalten sobald ich das Album vorliegen habe. Möglicherweise bekomme ich aber vorher noch ein, zwei Songsamples als Vorgeschmack.

Der Konzertdownload hingegen erfolgte bereits Ende September und ich hoffe sehr das die Fans, die dieses als Goodie gewählt haben, ebenso begeistert von den Konzerten sind wie ich. Feedback bekam ich leider keins... :-( Das bedeutet hoffentlich das ihr zufrieden seit. Falls ihr die Konzerte auf CD brennen wollt, schicke ich euch in den nächsten Wochen noch ein Artwork.

Angekündigt habe ich diese bereits zu David 60ten Geburtstag im August. Zwischenzeitlich sind noch ein paar Termin dazu gekommen. Erst heute habe ich wieder zwei Zusagen bekommen. Hier die bisherigen Tourdaten. Die TBA Gigs werde ich in den nächsten Tagen auf der Website veröffentlichen.

A lot of time went by since the last news cause I wanted to see how things work out so I can give you some facts instead of rumors.

First of all you can find all the past news in the News-Archive in the upper left navigation above the painting. In the next weeks this site has it's 2nd anniversary and there were to much news to collect on one site.

The Startnext Crowdfunding was a great success and because of your help the next Mobile Home Record is "Water Side - The Story of Sonny Hamm". The recording is a 90% finished. David will do some vocal overdubs in the next week in the studio in Florida. Sadly, the project was on hold for a while because the producer, Thomas McEniry, was in the hospital from early october on. But now he's been healed and ready to make the final touches.

The december release is no longer possible, but we hope to get the CD in the late january 2013. Same with the download of the album. I will send you the download link at the moment when I start to ship the CDs.

I gave you the concert download link in the last week of september and I hope you enjoy the concerts as much as I do. Sadly no one gave a feedback. I guess that means that everything is just fine. I will send you some artwork for the concerts if you like to burn it on CDs.

So far for now...

Next point is the tour 2013. Sadly all the dates are in Germany. Maybe there will be some gigs in the Netherlands too.
